Bill Willing, chairman of Montana’s Veterans Affairs Board, delivers the keynote speech at the at The Wall That Heals opening ceremony and memorial service July 24 at Elk’s Riverside Park in Great Falls, Mont. Willing was a helicopter gunship pilot in Vietnam and flew 512 combat missions during the war. He spoke about the difficulty veterans have coping with the war and reintegrating into society, and the importance of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial for both individual and national healing.
