Malmstrom owns and operates six electric cars to support the wing's day-to-day mission. Each vehicle travels about 25 miles per hour and has a range of 40 miles during normal use. They are plugged into a standard household outlet for eight hours to fully recharge. With approximately 1,000 miles driven each year, the electric vehicles save about $700 each per year.
