Showcasing history

The Army and Army Air Corps had many unofficial chevrons and uniform patches worn by soldiers in wartime. Here are examples (left to right) from World War II and the 1930s. This collection belongs to Chief Master Sgt. Jerry Hanes, 341st Operations Group interim-superintendent, who has an extensive military memorabilia collection ranging from uniforms, patches, collar brass, framed photos and documents to name a few. He has been collecting for 35 years. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Eydie Sakura)
