Shooting off fireworks early this year could result in a fine of $100 for a first offense, $200 for a second offense and $300 for a third violation.
A city, two-person team, consisting of one firefighter and one police officer will be assigned to fireworks duty each night now through Independence Day from 6 p.m. to midnight.
On the three specified days, fireworks can be used in the city from 8 a.m. to midnight.
In addition, fireworks are now banned from city parks, including Elks Riverside Park and public streets.
