The winner of the 2007 Air Force Innkeeper Travelers Award recently returned to Malmstrom from the awards presentation in New York City Nov. 10.

Veronica Davison, 341st Services Squadron housekeeping manager, was presented the prestigious Air Force-wide award and said she was proud to represent Malmstrom Inns and Suites, and the services squadron.

"It's not just an individual award; it's an award for the whole inn," said Ms. Davison. "Without the staff, this award never would have been possible. It was a really good team effort, and we have a really good and supportive team here."

Ms. Davison has worked at Malmstrom for nearly three years and has worked in the hospitality business for more than seven years. She started as a housekeeping supervisor and worked her way up to housekeeping manager.

Some of her job responsibilities include scheduling her staff of nine, with 16 during the summer months; making sure distinguished visitor quarters are set up for protocol; and assigning the housekeepers the rooms to prepare for the next customers.

"I inspect the rooms after they are cleaned and I do a lot of one-on-one training with the housekeeping staff," she said. "[The staff] is wonderful and I like how management allows us the opportunity to pursue education and get our certifications."

Ms. Davison said she thinks the Malmstrom Inns and Suites is one of the best in the Air Force.

"I think comment cards speak for themselves," Ms. Davison said. "I'm very dedicated to my job. I like meeting people from all around the world and interacting with customers. I like feedback, especially positive, but if there is something wrong, I make sure we get it done correctly."
