Colonel DANIEL J. VOORHIES

Col Daniel J. Voorhies is the Commander, 341st Missile Wing, Malmstrom Air Force Base, Mont.  The wing’s 4,200 personnel defend the United States with combat-ready Airmen and nuclear forces.  They are responsible for base support, maintenance, security and operation of Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missiles, missile alert facilities and launch facilities throughout a 13,800 square-mile complex in central Montana.

Col Voorhies earned his commission through Air Force Officer Training School in 2001. He has served as a Missile Combat Crew Member, instructor, evaluator, Chief of Emergency War Order Training and Chief of Exercises for the Wing Inspector General. He also served at the MAJCOM level as a speechwriter and Aide-De-Camp to the Commander. He served on the Joint Staff, where he performed duties in the National Military Command Center.  Col Voorhies was the Commander of the 91st Operations Support Squadron at Minot AFB, N.D. and helped develop and stand up the Air Force’s Leadership Development Course for Squadron Command while stationed at Maxwell AFB, Ala. Prior to his current position, Col Voorhies served as the Director, Logistics & Plans, Policy & Integration at 20th Air Force, at F.E. Warren AFB, Wyo.
