Viekoda Bay
An aerial shot of Viekoda Bay, Kodiak Island, Alaska. Tech. Sgt. Matthew Sutton and his hunting partner, Bill Bush, were hunting on the ridge in the right of the photo when Sergeant Sutton was attacked by three brown bears. Their cabin was across the bay on the left side of the photo and it took the two men an hour and a half to return there by inflatable boat after the attack. (Courtesy photo)
