Steady ground
Contractors repair a land slide July 14 on Forest Grove Road near Lewistown, Mont. The project was funded by the Defense Access Road Program, which provides funding to help the military share in expenses on roads which receive unusual impacts from overweight military vehicles such as Minuteman III transporter erectors assigned to Malmstrom Air Force Base. The more than $200,000 project will prevent further landslides from occurring and ensure a stable road surface for Airmen and civilian motorists for a projected 75 years.
