Blue Star Marker
A ceremony will take place May 19 at 1 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Park officially dedicating it a Blue Star Memorial. The Great Falls Flower Growers and the Rainbow Garden Club members have worked for two years to raise the money to purchase and install the memorial. According to one of the members, Galia Fundis, from 1945 to 1956, there was much excitement in showing appreciation for the service personnel that won the war. As a result, a suitable memorial to honor those men and women became a priority. Garden Club women visualized a living memorial, thus the Blue Star Memorial Markers started to spring up across the Nation. She extends an invitation to anyone interested to attend the dedication ceremony later this month.
