Applications for spouse CNA certification program available Feb. 1-24 Published Jan. 18, 2019 Airman and Family Readiness Center MALMSTROM AIR FORCE BASE, Mont. -- Are you an active duty Air Force military spouse interested in a new occupation or obtaining a Certified Nursing Assistant certification?The Malmstrom Airman and Family Readiness Center was selected for the 2019 Spouse Employment Training Program sponsored by the Air Force Aid Society. This grant is open to all active duty Air Force military spouses. We are offering the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program in partnership with Spectrum Medical Services.Applications will be available starting Feb. 1 at the AFRC, Bldg. 800. Applications must be returned by Monday, Feb. 25. All applicants will be notified of selection March 4.Successful candidates will be able to take a board examination upon completion of the program and will become competitive candidates for employment in the health services profession. Our local community has a continuous need for qualified CNAs and we believe this program will provide quality training for our spouses to meet these local demands and to provide a portable career. Training will be held at an off-base location which allows spouses direct training in a medical setting. The grant includes course registration, books, clinical uniforms and other required supplies. We will select 10 military spouse candidates for admission into this training program. The curriculum will entail two weeks of intensive training and is limited to an enrollment of five candidates per training session. Our objective is to send spouses to training sessions beginning in the spring and throughout the summer and fall of 2019. If you are interested please stop by the AFRC and pick up an application.
