Base-wide Halloween party
Team Malmstrom members are invited to attend a base-wide Halloween party Oct. 25 starting at 9 p.m. at the Grizzly Bend. This event is open to everyone on base, including spouses.

Women's empowerment class
The Gracie Jiu Jitsu family will be at Malmstrom Air Force Base to conduct a Women Empowered Instructor Certification Seminar from Nov. 11 through 15. The course includes eight hours of daily instruction for one week, free online access to all Women Empowered course materials and videos as well as a two-year instructor certification for each student. Although the class is directed towards women, men are encouraged to attend on a 20/80 basis. For more information or to sign up, contact your unit 1st sergeant.

Spiritual resilience seminar
The base chapel is hosting a spiritual resilience seminar Oct. 20, 27 and Nov. 3 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the chapel annex. For more information, call Ch. (Capt.) Matthew Glaros, 341st Missile Wing chaplain, at 731-3721.

Call of Duty Black Ops tournament
A Call of Duty Black Ops II tournament for airmen basic through senior airmen is scheduled for Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. at the base Detour and Nov. 2, with location and time to be decided. Teams must consist of four and will be required to bring one copy of the game, one Xbox 360 Console and every individual must bring their own controller and batteries. Embry-Riddle to discontinue on-site courses
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University will discontinue on-site classes at Malmstrom Air Force Base effective Nov. 3.On-line courses and degrees will continue to be supported. Current students have been notified and will be referred to the Online Learning Department to continue their studies. One ERAU staff member will continue to be available for current students to assist with the transition and can be reached at 727-9901. For more information, go to http://www.erau.edu.

Fee for CLEP and DSST exams
Due to budgetary constraints, the Malmstrom Education and Training Center can no longer pay Park University the fee for CLEP and DSST exams, effective Oct. 1 and includes all those already scheduled. Students must make a $100 payment via check or money order only and for the exact amount (no credit or debit cards and no cash). Please contact Park University at 761-7540 with any questions about payment or to schedule exams.

Exchange's new hours
The Army and Air Force Exchange Service is amending Express hours to better reflect demand. After a thorough review of traffic patterns and sales, the Exchange has adjusted hours to the following, now effective: Sunday through Saturday from 4:30 a.m. to midnight. Gas pumps will remain open 24/7.

Scouts to sell popcorn
Boy Scout Troop 43 and Cub Scout Pack 43 from Malmstrom will begin taking orders for Boy Scout popcorn through Oct. 19 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday to Friday and Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. in base housing. Air Force accepting prior service applicants
Veterans who served in any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces who were honorably discharged and have been separated less than six years may be eligible to serve in the U.S. Air Force. Individuals may have the opportunity to serve in their previous career-field or retrain. Build a Personal Career Plan
Team Malmstrom members can build a personal career plan through the Kuder Assessment Career and Transition System. It is a comprehensive online resource to help plan for the future, learn about interests, skills and work values, and how to use those results to build a personal career plan designed specifically for the individual. The Air Force has a limited amount of licenses available, but once registered, the license is kept for life. For more information or to register, go to http://dantes.kuder.com.

Outdoor adventure trips
The following are outdoor adventure trips offered by Malmstrom's Outdoor Recreation:
· A pumpkin carving night at ODR is scheduled for tonight from 5 to 8 p.m.
· A Halloween trick or treat night is scheduled for Oct. 31 in base housing. Children and their families will have the opportunity to ride the ODR hay wagon.

John Maxwell seminars for Team Malmstrom Airmen
The John Maxwell "The 360 Degree Leader" all-day seminars will be offered at the Education and Training Center for airmen basic through senior airmen Nov. 14 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and for NCOs Dec. 11. The John Maxwell "Developing the leader Within You" Seminars will be offered for NCOs Jan. 23, for airmen basic through senior airmen Feb. 19, and senior NCOs and lieutenants March 19. All classes are limited to 30 attendees.
