BBC update: Housing residents to receive meters, Multipurpose Center Published Feb. 27, 2014 By Rhonda Corkin 341st Civil Engineer Squadron MALMSTROM AIR FORCE BASE, Mont. -- Balfour Beatty Communities will host an informational town hall for Malmstrom Air Force Base housing residents at 7 p.m. March 4 at the base auditorium. The primary purpose of the town hall will be to discuss the installation of electric and gas meters on every housing unit. BBC will also provide information on the construction of the new Multipurpose Center as well as the remainder of Minuteman Village backyard fences and Peacekeeper Park/Jupiter Village patio covers to be installed this summer. There will be a brief question and answer period and BBC representatives will be available for one-on-one questions. BBC intends to install electric and gas meters on the homes in May or June, but will not start "mock billing" at that time. BBC is required to send mock bills each month for at least one year to detail the usage at each home. Following the mock billing period, any usage by a family that exceeds or falls short of the baseline amount (the average utility cost by floor plan by neighborhood) will result in a credit or debit to the resident's account. BBC will need to access residents' homes to complete the meter installation and will be providing individual notices to each unit that will explain the schedule and process. Please check BBC's website at www.Malmstromfamilyhousing.com or their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/MalmstromHomes for updates, current LifeWorks events or to submit a non-emergency service request. The housing office can be reached at 406-315-2262 and the 24-hour service line is 406-315-2263.
