Great Falls museums to host 14th annual sampler

The 14th annual Great Falls Museums Consortium Sunday Sampler is scheduled for April 13 from noon to 5 p.m. Every year, 10 Great Falls, Mont., museums collaborate to provide a day of free admission to encourage Great Falls members to visit cultural offerings found in the community. The following are the museums participating in the event:

Children's Museum of Montana
The Children's Museum of Montana, located at 22 Railroad Square, serves as an educational resource for the community of Great Falls by providing hands-on learning of science, math and culture. C.M. Russell Museum
The C.M. Russell Museum, located at 400 13th St. N., serves to educate on the art and life of Charles M. Russell and the art of his contemporaries. The museum maintains approximately 2,000 art pieces done by Russell and 12,000 total permanent items from artists including O.C. Seltzer, Winold Reiss and Gary Schildt. First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park
Formerly known as Ulm Pishkun State Park, First People's Buffalo Jump State Park is located at 342 Ulm Vaughn Road, Ulm, Mont. The park is one of the largest prehistoric bison kill sites in the United States, according to Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks' website. Views, cultural artifacts, a visitor center, interpretive trails and three miles of hiking are available at the park. Galerie Trinitas at University of Great Falls

Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail Interpretive Center
Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail Interpretive Center, located at 4201 Giant Springs Road, is a self-guided, interactive exhibit showcasing Lewis and Clark's 8,000-mile journey across western North America. The center also serves to educate people on plains and Northwest Indians and various plants and animals in the Northwest. Malmstrom Air Force Base Museum
The Malmstrom Air Force Base Historic Exhibit and Air Park, located just inside Malmstrom's main gate at the East end of 2nd Ave. N., aims to depict, display and interpret the historical significance of the base and its related organizations. For more information, call 731-2705.

Montana Museum of Railroad History

The History Museum
