Family Advocacy event
In recognition of Child Abuse Awareness Month, Family Advocacy is providing a parent book/resource table at both the Child Development Center and the Youth Activity Center April 16 to 18. National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day
In honor of National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, unwanted and unused prescription drugs can be dropped off April 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Visitor Control Center. The event is to allow individuals to safely and conveniently dispose of all unwanted drugs to decrease the potential for drug misuse and abuse in the community. For more information, contact Capt. Outdoor adventure trips
The following are outdoor adventure trips offered by Malmstrom's Outdoor Recreation:
· A Sluice Box rappelling and hiking trip is scheduled for April 12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
· A Bear Hunting Class will be held April 16 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
· A Lick Creek Caving trip is scheduled for April 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

WIC, parenting classes available
WIC is a special supplemental nutrition program for women, infants and children helping with education on healthy eating and free healthy food vouchers. Appointments are available on Wednesdays from 8:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. at the Malmstrom Air Force Base pediatric office. Call 406-454-6953 to set up an appointment.

New breastfeeding support group - A meeting is scheduled for April 14 at the Great Falls Public Library small conference room from 10:30 a.m. to noon for anyone interested. For more information, contact Shelly Mackenstadt at 454-6953 or email smackenstadt@mt.gov

Circle of security parenting classes - Classes focus on bonding, attachment and building self-esteem with your children, are offered through the City County Health Department. For more information on the location and dates, call Jo-Viviane at 791-9262.

MSC Social

AFAS reinstates 'Give Parents a Break' at Malmstrom
The Air Force Aid Society has reinstated the "Give Parents a Break" program, which provides childcare for eligible active-duty Air Force members. AFAS pays the cost of opening the base Child Development Center once a month from noon to 5 p.m. for families referred to the program. Families using the center will not be charged for the care. Parents are advised to sign children up each month, have a current referral and ensure paperwork is up to date. The following are dates for available care: May 3, June 7, July 12, Aug. 2, Sept. 6, Oct. 4, Nov. 8 and Dec. 6. For more information, call Ashley Smith at 731-4900.

Staff sergeant testing cycle changed
A change to the testing month for the 14E5 cycle has occurred for enlisted promotions due to the Enlisted Retention Board. The testing window, originally scheduled for May 1 to June 14, has been moved up 30 days to April 1 through May 16. Moving the testing window up will allow individuals to test and allow Air Force Personnel Center time to remove selects from the ERB eligible list.

Malmstrom to offer FCC provider licensure
Malmstrom Family Child Care will be offering a New Providers Orientation class for military spouses residing on Malmstrom to become licensed FCC providers. For more information or to sign up, call 731-2116.

STOMP to offer workshop
The Specialized Training of Military Parents Organization will be offering a two-day training workshop May 12 and 13 at the Grizzly Bend from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., for military parents of children with special medical or education needs. GI Bill brief
The Education and Training Center will be holding two monthly briefings to help clarify Force Shaping programs. They will be held the first Thursday of the month at 10 a.m., and the third Friday of the month at 1 p.m. In addition, they will be discussing the Montgomery G.I.
