Civilian tuition assistance funding available for centrally managed employees

MALMSTROM AIR FORCE BASE, Mont. --  A limited amount of tuition assistance funding is available for all centrally managed employees. Currently, funding is available through the end of this calendar year; however, participation and the rate of expenditures will determine the overall length of tuition assistance availability.

Eligibility: Tuition assistance is available to all appropriated fund employees. This policy does not apply to employees covered by AFI 36-602, Civilian Intern Programs. This policy does not apply to training and education mandated by law, regulation or agency requirements.

TA is designed to benefit the Air Force mission by providing tuition assistance to mission-related courses.

The Air Force Personnel Center has received funding to support Fiscal 2014 tuition assistance requests, which may also be used for the first quarter of Fiscal 2015. This means the course must have started no later than Dec. 31. Employees in the grades of GS-09 and above who are interested in receiving TA must submit a Standard Form 182 for each course to the Force Support Career Field Team as soon as possible. Anyone wanting to know if their career field team is providing TA should call their team. They can find the contact information for their career field team on the MyPers website at https://mypers.af.mil.

Once entering the Force Support SharePoint site, look under the Training and Development folder for instructions on completing a SF 182 as well as a fillable SF 182 document.

SF 182s for summer courses need to be submitted as soon as possible and at least three weeks before the fall courses start to ensure documentation is processed in time to receive funding.
