Wingman Day was held in conjunction with resiliency training and Wing Sports Smackdown for Malmstrom Air Force Base members May 16.

Col. Tom Wilcox, 341st Missile Wing commander, kicked off the day with a base-wide all call at the 3-Bay Hangar to discuss the importance of safety, prevention of sexual assault and the critical days of summer.

"You, your families, your spouses and the entire team - active duty, contractors, civilians, it doesn't matter - we're all in this together," he said. "Being a good Wingman spans all of them."

Following the all-call, Team Malmstrom members broke off to attend resiliency training in their respective squadrons.

"We've all heard the quote, 'when life gives you lemons, make lemonade,'" said Senior Airman Alison Shildt, 341st Comptroller Squadron Defense Travel System lead technician and resiliency training instructor. "Life is going to throw us obstacles; it's how we approach the obstacles that test our resiliency. Briefing as an RTA, I use stories, videos and audience participation to make it an approachable subject. Try, prepare to fail and get up and try again. Celebrate trying, and then try, try again."

At the conclusion of Wingman Day, the quarterly Wing Sports Smackdown was held at the Grizzly Bend, sponsored by the Big Sky Top 3 Association.
