On April 27, Malmstrom Air Force Base hosted The Amazing Race: Malmstrom Style, a competitive scavenger hunt.

The event was one of many activities planned throughout the month of April in support of Wingman Month.

For the race, Airmen were able to form teams to compete against each other. Approximately 33 Airmen competed in the event.

Wingman Month focuses on Airmen building commraderie and strong relationships with one another and strengthening an individual's domains of comprehensive Airman fitness: physical, emotional, spiritual and social.

"The Amazing Race was one of many events for Wingman Month, which is trying to get individuals aware of the base agencies to increase resiliency," said Tracie Faulk, 341st Force Support Squadron Airman and Family Readiness Center community readiness consultant.

Teams had to complete tasks for the scavenger hunt race throughout the base to help Airmen familiarize themselves with the services and agencies available at Malmstrom.

"Airmen had to complete tasks at different places one base. All Integrated Delivery System agencies were a mandatory stop," said Faulk.

Tasks included Airmen taking a selfie or a group photo with a prairie dog, completing an obstacle course, and disassemble and reassemble a security forces weapon. The physical tasks were designed to test leadership and teamwork skills.

"The IDS decided to do something that was more fun," said Faulk. "That way, we are still engaging the troops."

The first place winners were members assigned to the 341st Civil Engineer Squadron, including 2nd Lt. Alex Palmer, and Airmen 1st Class Magen Allen, Evan Knight, Bryce Ikerd and Connor Shelby. The prize was a three-day-pass.

"Everyone who participated in the event told me they had fun, learned a lot and enjoyed it," said Faulk.
