Spring Carnival kicks off Month of the Military Child Published April 6, 2007 By Airman 1st Class Emerald Ralston 341st Space Wing Public Affairs MALMSTROM AFB, Mont. -- The Youth Programs Center held it's annual Spring Carnival March 31. "The Spring Carnival is a celebration to kick off the Month of the Military Child," said Cynthia Berg, Youth Programs Director. "Plus, who doesn't love a carnival!" Many booths were set up for the kids including kick ball games, golf, pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey, tic-tac-toe and a cake-walk. There was also an arts and crafts room where Little Warriors could get their faces painted or get a picture taken with the Easter bunny. "The Youth Center staff set up the games and several volunteers helped work the booths," Ms. Berg said. "If it weren't for them, we wouldn't have been able to offer as many activities." This year's carnival went very smoothly and more than 200 people attended, Ms. Berg added. "Everyone had a great time," Ms. Berg said. "We received a lot of positive comments from the parents as well as the kids." Many door prizes were given away over the course of the day that included balloon bouquets, candy baskets and videos. First Liberty Federal Credit Union and AAFES made donations which helped make the carnival possible. For for information about programs and services offered, call 731-4634.
