New commissioning option available to active-duty enlisted

The Air Force is accepting active-duty enlisted applicants for the Nurse Enlisted Commissioning Program.

NECP is an opportunity to complete a full-time Bachelor of Science degree in nursing at an accredited university while remaining on active duty. The Air Force Nurse Corps is hoping to select up to 50 students for the upcoming fall semester.

The NECP selection board is scheduled to convene at the Air Force Personnel Center in July. Completed applications must be received at HQ AFPC/DPAMN, 550 C Street West, Suite 25, Randolph AFB TX 78150 no later than June 25.

The be eligible applicants must:
 Be on active duty minimum grade of E-4
 Be a citizen of the United States and provide a certified copy of birth certificate, passport or certificate of citizenship/naturalization
 Be commissioned by age 42
 Be worldwide qualified
 Meet all requirements for commissioning
 Meet all prerequisites to complete an academic review
 Have completed 59 semester hours of graded college coursework from a regionally accredited college or university

Additionally, applicants must have completed the following courses:
 General psychology
 Anatomy and physiology one and two (labs required),
 Microbiology (lab required)
 Chemistry one and two (labs required)
 Nutrition
 Statistics
