UFT board to convene January 2008 The next undergraduate flying training selection board will convene at the Air Force Personnel Center on Jan 8, 2008. This selection board will review active-duty applications for selection to pilot, CSO and Air Battle Manager training. Those officers with a date of birth after April 1, 1978 and a total Federal commissioned service to date after April 1, 2003, who meet all other eligibility criteria, will be eligible to apply for UFT. Applicants must send the completed application, postmarked by Nov. 26 to HQ AFPC/DPAOT3, 550 C Street, West Suite 31, Randolph AFB, TX 78150-4733. Applicants are responsible to advise commander and supervisors providing Air Force form 215 comments of the application deadline. Applications with incomplete or missing data may not be processed. All applicants need to complete the Air Force Officer Qualification Test. In addition, pilot applicants must complete the Test of Basic Aviation Skills. Combat arms range complex off limits The combat arms range complex, located on the southeast corner of Malmstrom, is off-limits to all personnel except those conducting official business or attending training. Trespassing on the range complex can be life threatening. Education office offering College 101 The education office is offering College 101 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Topics will include choosing the right school, types of degrees, CLEP and DANTES exams, CCAF degrees, paying for college and tuition assistance. AETC opportunities still available The Air Education and Training Command Special Duty Briefing Team conducted their regularly scheduled visit earlier this month. Air Force members who may have missed the team's visit do not have to wait for the next visit to apply for an AETC special duty. IRS alerts taxpayers on e-mail scam The Internal Revenue Service alerted taxpayers to the latest versions of an e-mail scam intended to fool people into believing they are under investigation by the agency's criminal investigation division. The e-mail seeks to entice people to click on a link or open an attachment to learn more about a complaint against them. The IRS warned people that the e-mail link and attachment is a Trojan Horse that can take over the computer hard drive and allow someone remote access. RiverFest Booths still available Booths are still available at the RiverFest Arts and Entertainment community event July 14 between Sight and Sound and Elks Riverside Parks. The event will offer live entertainment, a petting zoo, pony rides and refreshments. Please RSVP by calling 731-4451 or stop into the Mental Health office to put your name on the list. 5K run to benefit Air Force Ball A 5K run will begin in the BX parking lot July 13 at 7:30 a.m. A 5$ donation is requested and all proceeds will be used to lower ticket costs.
