Summer is almost over. The weather is turning cooler at night and the days are become shorter. But children are still active with outdoor activities and often forget about the base curfew. Malmstrom does have a curfew.

The base curfew for those under the age of 18 is 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday during the school year. Any other time, including summer, the curfew is midnight to 6 a.m. Parents can grant extended curfew hours to minor family members in writing. The sponsor's name, rank, and unit; name and age of the family member; and home address and telephone number of the sponsor must all be included on the permission slip. In addition, it must have the date, specific event, extended time limit and any other unique information that will assist the family member in entering or transiting the installation. It must be carried by the family member named on it.

At no time will minor family members be allowed in or near dormitories, unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Dormitory residents have curfew rules they must follow as well. Dorm residents are not allowed to have visitors under the age of 18, unless the visitor is accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. This not only includes the dorms themselves, but also the parking lots and surrounding yards.

Following these policies will help to ensure everyone at Malmstrom finishes up the summer safely. Any questions regarding curfew and sponsorship violations may be directed to the 341st SFS, Police Services Section at 731-3201. To report curfew violations, contact the dispatch center at 731-3895.
