More than 80 volunteers from Malmstrom helped prepare and deliver 340 Thanksgiving meals to less fortunate members of the Great Falls community Nov. 22.

Malmstrom volunteers were on hand Nov. 21 as well to help de-bone 420 pounds of turkey at the Great Falls Meals on Wheels facility.

"Everyone who showed up to help was gainfully employed," said Randy Glick, 341st Mission Support Squadron management analyst and event coordinator. "We delivered 70 more meals than we did last year without running out of any food."

It seemed as though there were too many volunteers until the 48 drivers started heading out to deliver meals which included rolls, cranberries, gravy, dressing, green beans, ham, turkey and sweet potatoes, Mr. Glick said.

"I think we [the volunteers] get a lot out of this event. It is very satisfying," Mr. Glick said. "Volunteers are encouraged to wear their unit hats and they deliver food to a lot of veterans. They love to see us."

The volunteers showed an appreciation for the Thanksgiving holiday, said 1st Lt. Jennifer Hubal, 341st MSS relocations and employment chief.

"The volunteers give their own time to help show how important the Great Falls community is to Malmstrom," Lieutenant Hubal said. "It's just amazing."
