Construction underway at Clinic
The Standard Interior Design and Main Entry Renovation Project for the Malmstrom AFB Clinic is under way. The first area that will be under renovation is the east corridor. During this time (projected Jan. 7 to Feb. 14) the east corridor will be shut down for public access. The East Entrance will be open for Mental Health and Family Advocacy patients and staff only.

Library hours to be reduced
Effective Jan. 14, the hours at the base library will be Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. only.

January is National Volunteer Blood Donor Month
Donating blood is quick, simple and safe, and is a wonderful way to give the gift of life to a patient in need. The American Red Cross extends its thanks to all past blood donors for their generous contributions and encourages new donors to give today. The next blood drive at Malmstrom is Jan. 15 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Call the American Red Cross at 727-2212 for an appointment to donate, or sign up online at www.givelife.org. The sponsor code is 'airforce.' Questions should be directed to Senior Master Sgt. Michael Klopfenstein at 731-3889.

MSC hosting movie night
The Malmstrom Spouses Club is hosting a movie night, featuring, "The Notebook," Jan. 17 starting at 6:30 p.m. at the base theater. This is a free event. People interested in finding out more about the MSC are welcome and encouraged to attend. Please make reservations by Jan. 15 to Helen Scholars at 866-0245.

Martin Luther King, Jr., service being held
The African-American Heritage Association is hosting a ceremony in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Jan. 18 at 9:30 a.m. at the base chapel. All are invited to attend.

Pre-school screening coming to YPC Jan. 18
Representatives from the Great Falls Public Schools will be at the Youth Program Center Jan. 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to conduct pre-school screenings for children ages infant to 5 years old. Tests will be conducted in vision, hearing, motor skills, communication and basic concepts to assess children's developmental levels and to locate children with potential or existing problems that may interfere with their learning. They will be performed by local special education personnel, quality of life personnel, an audiologist and an optometrist. Appointments are required and can be made by calling 268-6025. Only 40 slots are available so early registration is encouraged.

Tops In Blue set to perform in Great Falls
Tops In Blue, the Air Force's premiere touring entertainment group, will be in Great Falls Jan. 22 for one performance at the Four Seasons Arena. The show, "The Fly-By," features a musical tribute to 60 years of proud Air Force history. Doors open at 6 p.m. to military ID card holders and their family members. At 6:30 p.m., the doors open to the general public. Show time is 7 p.m. No tickets are required. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Host families needed for exchange students this spring
The Treasure State Academy has the opportunity to accept two foreign exchange students during the spring semester if host families can be found for a German boy and a Hungarian girl. Both are 16-years-old. If you are interested in learning more about the TSA or this opportunity, call 727-5133.

HAWC staff available for meetings
The Health and Wellness Center will come to any small group meeting, such as a spouses group or an afternoon gathering of friends, and bring their "fact or fiction" kit which debunks popular fitness and nutrition myths and brings about great discussion and motivation. The staff can also supply a list of healthy snacks that can be provided by the participants. For more information, call Kelley Suggs at 731-4482.
