Civilian training opportunities outlined Published Feb. 12, 2008 MALMSTROM AIR FORCE BASE, Mont. -- The Civilian Training Office is located inside the Education and Training Center, 7521 4th Ave. N., building1240. Appointments are available for briefings regarding any of the below listed services by calling 731-4676. The Civilian Training Manager is the primary point of contact regarding civilian training, education and management of the Acquisition Professional Development Program. Basic services: The CTO assists and advises leadership and management regarding the training and development of their employees as well as the various types and sources of training and funding options available to them. The CTO also assists management, upon request, in identifying and developing formal training plans for those employees in developmental positions. Staff also provides both individual and group briefings regarding civilian training needs, career development and broadening opportunities, professional military education opportunities and education funding. Another resource of the CTO is it provides guidance counseling services and tuition assistance to all eligible and interested civilians wishing to advance their level of education. Tuition assistance is available to all Air Force Space Command appropriated funded employees up to GS-12 (or equivalent) and fund availability is provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Individuals hired under the Co-op program are also eligible to receive this entitlement once they have served a minimum of 90 days in their position (from date of hire). CTO serves as base Acquisition Professional Development Program Manager and provides both education and training support to all individuals assigned to Acquisition coded positions.
