Malmstrom's theater group, Wing It Theater, will be holding final auditions for their upcoming production from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Monday at the base auditorium.

The production will be called "Malmstrom's American Bandstand: A Retro Tribute to the Music of the 1950s and 1960s."

"This show will be an upbeat, exciting tribute to performing artists," said Sheri Wilson, production director. "Some of the artist tributes include The Coasters, Bill Haley and the Comets, The Flamingos, Elvis, The Supremes, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and more. Every performance will be live and the audience will definitely be entertained from the opening act to the finale dance tribute."

While much of the show has already been cast, Wing It is still looking for talent from Malmstrom. The group hopes to find any additional singers and dancers that may have been missed in the first auditions, as well as an assistant music director and help backstage with make-up, hair, and sound and light techs. Also, roles that still need to be cast are Elvis, The Supremes and The Beatles.

"Although a few roles still need to be filled, the turnout has been great," Ms. Wilson said. "Many may think, since the show highlights music from the 50s and 60s, the younger generation wouldn't be interested, but that was certainly not the case here. Most of the cast is under 30, and they are energetic and talented singers and dancers."

Active-duty military, civilians and family members are all welcome to audition and volunteer for backstage duties.

"Productions can get very hectic so the more helping hands, the better," said Senior Airman Sarah Burrill, theater group vice president. "Anyone who is interested in getting to know the group for future productions is also more than welcome to stop by the final audition for more information. We're always looking for new faces."

The production will be held at the Grizzly Bend Club June 13 and 14. A social hour starts each night before the show at 6:30 p.m. with live entertainment. The production will begin at 7:30 p.m. The show is free of charge but tickets are needed to attend.

This event will be great for the entire family, Ms. Wilson said.

"We hope people from all age groups will come out and support this production - it is truly a show for everyone, from the young to the young at heart," Ms. Wilson said.
Wing It Theater is a private organization made up of active-duty military, family members and civilians who enjoy theater arts and performing arts.

"We are trying to encourage all members from Malmstrom who want to share their talents or are just simply interested in the arts to get involved," Ms. Wilson said. "It's a great opportunity to sharpen or learn new skills through a variety of plays, improvisation and various shows."
