Malmstrom's theater group, Wing It theater, is holding an American Bandstand-like performance at 7:30 p.m. June 13 and 14 at the Grizzly Bend Club, with a social hour and refreshments starting at 6:30 p.m.

The performance will feature tributes to classic musical selections of the 50s and 60s from bands such as the Rolling Stones, the Coasters, Elvis Presley, the Chordettes, the Five Satins, the Beatles, Bill Haley and the Comets, and more.

The performance features more than 30 members of Team Malmstrom showcasing various talents such as singing, dancing and acting.

"One of the coolest things about the show is there are so many young people having such a great time with music from before their era," said Sherri Wilson, director of the production. "It has been so awesome to see the level of interest and excitement, especially with a cast that is primarily under 30 years old."

The majority of the cast is composed of active-duty military members, with a few family members participating as well. Officers, enlisted and civilians have come together to make this event possible.

"This is the first time in Wing It history we've had so many people - this is a huge turnout," said Airman 1st Class Kenneth Jacobs, 341st Missile Maintenance Squadron. "It's a lot of people to manage but its lots of fun."

So many people were interested, in fact, Wing It is considering making this an annual production, Airman Jacobs said.

With selections that are family-friendly and an enthusiastic cast, this production is open for people of all ages to come enjoy the classics and the local talent.

"This is definitely something the whole family can enjoy," said Senior Airman Efrem Foster, 341st Missile Maintenance Squadron. "There is something for everyone, even if you weren't alive in the 50s or 60s."

The production is sponsored by the Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws committee of the Great Falls Police Department and will be an alcohol-free event. Loco Mic, a DJ from Great Falls, has also helped coordinate the performance by mixing and editing the musical selections.

"The help from the community has been very exciting," Ms. Wilson said. "We're happy to have bonds and connections with the local community that enable us to put together such a great show."

Although the performance is free, tickets will still be distributed and are required to attend the show. Tickets can be obtained by calling 952-4729.
