According to College of Enlisted Professional Military Education at Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base, Ala., effective June 1, the Senior NCO Distance Learning Course enrollment period will change from 12 months to an open-ended enrollment period (maximum 72 months). As a result, students currently on restriction may reenroll anytime. However, these students must start from the beginning of the course. Partial course credit will not be granted. Furthermore, if students enrolled prior to June 1 and their current enrollment is still active, they are no longer subject to disenrollment or restriction policies.

Course 12 is projected to close by the end of 2008 with enrollments officially ending Dec. 31. Although students may continue to enroll in Course 12 until Dec. 31, they are highly encouraged to enroll in Course 14. Students may switch between courses but only until Dec. 31. At that time, Course 14 will be the only option.

Currently, Course 14 is only available with an active internet connection. Effective Jan. 1, 2009, the "Off-line Option" will be available, allowing students to download the course to an electronic storage medium of their choice without being restricted to a computer with active internet connectivity.

Important to note is that if a student fails the same exam on the second attempt, he or she will be automatically disenrolled but may re-enroll after 72 hours; starting at the beginning of the course.
