Base housing office offers winter reminders
Old man winter is waiting for us just around the corner; here are a few suggestions to help make winter a safe season:
o Disconnect garden hoses and water timers before the temperature falls below freezing.
o Leave the furnace on when away from home. Set thermostat to 60 degrees.
o Do not plug in vehicle engine block heaters unless temperature is less than zero degrees.
o Properly store all lawn equipment, hoses, grills and summer recreation equipment.
o Snow and ice must be removed from all walkways, driveways and fire hydrants adjacent to quarters within 24 hours of snowfall. In case of continuing or blowing snow, remove snow each day.
o Return all recreational vehicles (boats, campers and trailers) to storage lots.
o Ensure pets have proper shelter and access to water.
o Decorative Holiday lights may only be on from 6 to 9 p.m.
