Annual Awards Banquet committee seeking theme The Annual Awards Banquet committee is looking for creative Team Malmstrom members to present their ideas for the theme of this year's banquet. Present your ideas to Senior Master Sgt. Sam McPherson via e-mail, samie.mcpherson@malmstrom.af.mil. Those submitting ideas should have the central theme and supporting materials available should their theme be selected. The cutoff for submissions is Jan. 16. Hours of operation outlined Effective Jan. 5, the finance customer service hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Missile filed and shift workers can call 731-3193 for an appointment. Questions should be directed to Senior Master Sgt. Dave Tuck at 731-4020. Thrift Store has reopened The Malmstrom Thrift and Consignment Store has reopened after being closed for the holidays. The store is located in Bldg. 581 on Goddard Ave. The store is open Tuesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Consignments are accepted until 1 p.m. If you have any questions about the Thrift Store, please call 731-3213. Bowl-A-Thon fundraiser planned A bowl-a-thon to help raise funds for the Annual Awards Banquet will be held Jan. 16 starting at 12:30 p.m. at Aces High Bowling Center. The cost is $10 per person plus pledges. Sign up individually or as a team of four persons with Capt. Jaydee Burns at 731-6090. Scouts collecting recyclables As part of their World Conservation Project, Scouts from Pack 43 will be collecting newspapers and aluminum cans through March 31. Anyone wishing to contribute to the project with donations can contact Char Ross at 771-1210 for more information or collection pick-up. Preschool screenings to be held in January Local special education personnel and school psychologists along with quality of life specialists, an optometrist and audiologist will conduct preschool screenings at the Youth Center Jan. 16 from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Children up to age 5, excluding those currently in kindergarten, who are military family members are eligible to be tested for vision, hearing, motor skills, communication and basic concept skills. Screenings take approximately one hour and appointments are required. Call 268-6025 for an appointment. Only 40 slots are available. CDC openings The Child Development Center was open an additional 34 hours during the most recent inspection . Hours will be extended during the upcoming re-inspection, scheduled for Feb. 4-9.
