Office closure announced
The Airman and Family Readiness Center will be closed today, Jan. 30, from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For emergency Air Force Aid assistance, call 788-8575.

Women's Bible study offered
The Protestant Women of the Chapel hold Bible study Thursdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Childcare is provided. For complete details, contact Jill Tanner at 453-0019.

Tax center open, taking appointments
The tax center is now open in building 770, room 3B. Walk in hours for standard returns are 8 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 to 11 a.m. only on Fridays. For those filing itemized returns, an appointment is required. Call 731-2811 to make one.

Valentine's Day specials offered on base
The Arts and Crafts Center is taking orders now for deliveries of balloon bouquets to on-base buildings and residences for Valentine's Day. There are several options to choose from. Stop by to place an order or call 731-3641 for more information. The Grizzly Bend Club is offering a special Sweetheart's Dinner Feb. 14 with seatings between 6 and 9 p.m. Dinner choices of queen cut prime rib, chicken princess or Chateaubriand for two include a complimentary glass of wine and dessert for the couple plus a long-stemmed rose for her. Annual awards banquet tickets on sale
The annual awards banquet has been changed to Feb. 11 and tickets are on sale now. The price for senior NCO's, officers ranks of captain and above, and civilian ranks of GS-8 and above are $25; NCOs, lieutenants and civilians GS-6-7 are $19; airmen and civilians GS-4-5 are $15. Tickets can be obtained from the following representatives:

Childcare, shuttle transportation available for annual awards banquet
The Child Development Center will provide childcare Feb. 11 from 4:30 to 10:30 p.m to support the annual awards banquet. There must be a minimum of 25 children signed up in order for the CDC to provide this service. Reservations and payment of $21 per child are due by Feb. 6. Call the CDC at 731-2417 or 731-2737 to make a reservation and for registration requirements. Additionally, shuttles will leave from the Grizzly Bend Club for the Heritage Inn starting at 4 p.m. Return rides will be available from the Heritage Inn starting at 8:45 p.m.

News about DD214s
The National Personnel Records Center has provided the following Web site for veterans to gain access to their DD214s online at http://vetrecs.archives.gov. This may be particularly helpful when a veteran needs a copy of this document for employment purposes. Military veterans and the next of kin of deceased former military members may now use the online system to request documents. This process still requires one to sign and date the request and fax or mail it to St. Louis for processing.

Free comedy show in Feb.
Soldiers of Comedy will perform at the base auditorium Feb. 20 starting at 7 p.m. Aspiring comedians, singers and other performers are invited to try out to be the master of ceremonies. Call 731-4849 or 731-4712 for complete details.

Scouts collecting recyclables
As part of their World Conservation Project, Scouts from Pack 43 will be collecting newspapers and aluminum cans through March 31. Anyone wishing to contribute to the project with donations can contact Char Ross at 771-1210 for more information or collection pick-up.
