Montana State Parks summer programs set Published July 8, 2009 By Joleen Tadej Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks MALMSTROM AIR FORCE BASE, Mont. -- From stargazing to contests and guided hikes to buffalo feasts, Montana State Parks feature entertaining programs and events for all ages. These special events and interpretive programs make it possible for visitors to learn about the unique history, culture and recreational opportunities in Montana. Here are some examples of upcoming events. Saturday, July 11 starting at 7 p.m. at Missouri Headwaters State Park Jon Jackson, an author of 11 novels and numerous short stories and magazine articles will present "Fishing by the Book" on the literature of fly fishing. For more information, call: 406-994-6934. Saturday-Sunday, July 18-19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Bannack State Park Annual "Bannack Days" celebrates pioneer life on the Montana frontier. Friday, July 24 starting at 8 p.m. at Beavertail Hill State Park Songs of the Civil War period provide a glimpse of this important time in American history.
