Changes to initial PCS process actions Published Nov. 13, 2009 By By 1st Lt. Danielle Hummert 341st Force Support Squadron MALMSTROM AIR FORCE BASE, Mont. -- In the last five years, the Air Force established a self-service model for many personnel programs, including such actions as retraining and retirements. Now, the Air Force assignment notification process is moving in the same direction. Following the latest guidance, individuals are required to use vMPF for all initial outbound assignment actions. As of Nov. 2, members who receive notification of re-assignment will utilize the online Initial Assignment Briefing application. The following describes the overall process: 1) The relocations office in the Military Personnel Section will receive the individual's notification for re-assignment from the Air Force Personnel Center. 2) The relocations office will send the notification and an informative e-mail/PowerPoint presentation with step-by-step instructions to the member describing how to accomplish the Initial Assignment Brief. 3) After completing the online brief, the individual will need to print the "RECORD OF TRANSACTION" page. This document validates that the member completed the online briefing. 4) The individual will turn in the "RECORD OF TRANSACTION" page and signed assignment notification RIP to the Relocations Office in the MPS (Bldg. 1191, Room 206). Relocations technicians will notify the member if they require additional items/actions for their PCS. Thank you for working with us as we adjust to this new directed process. For our Airmen out in the field, please establish reminders to check your e-mail accounts as often as possible for essential updates. If you have any questions, please contact the MPS relocations office at 731-3334.
