Community Notes: Week ending Dec. 11 Published Dec. 11, 2009 MALMSTROM AIR FORCE BASE, Mont. -- Rules for holiday lights in housing outlined The base housing office would like to remind residents of the following guidelines regarding holiday decorations: Think safety when setting decorations up and taking them down. To do our part in complying with the presidential directive to conserve energy and as a courtesy to neighbors, do not turn on decorative lights prior to 6 p.m. and turn them off by 9 p.m. Do not put electrical cords, lights, etc., around metal handrails or posts to prevent a possible shocking hazard. Do not climb on roofs to install decorations or for any other reason. Decorations need to be removed from quarters no later than 30 days after the holiday. A Musical Dreamtime Journey Lawrence Duncan and Michael Marsolek, from the Drum Brothers, will perform in concert Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. at the Christ UMC/First Congregational UCC, 2900 9th Ave S. The concert features a variety of instruments and musical offerings including: didgeridoo, ethnic flutes and other woodwinds, hand drums, harp, and voices. AFRC holding spouses to boot camp The Airman and Family Readiness Center will host a Spouse Boot Camp Dec. 14 from 2-3 p.m. The skill and knowledge development program is intended to strengthen military spouses and enhance mission readiness and support by providing them knowledge of the Air Force way of life through resources and services. Trash removal changes for holiday Base housing residents will have trash picked up on Saturdays, Dec. 26 and Jan. 2 versus the normal Friday pick-ups, due to the Christmas and New Year's holidays. Catholic holiday worship services outlined The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe Mass is Dec. 12 at 5 p.m. in the main chapel. A Mexican fiesta and games will follow the Mass.
