Spouse orientation program slated Oct. 13 Published Oct. 1, 2010 MALMSTROM AIR FORCE BASE, Mont. -- In an effort to integrate our newest spouses into the Air Force, Air Force Global Strike Command and Malmstrom way of life, all new military spouses and spouses who have not attended a Heart Link outing here are cordially invited to come to the next one scheduled Oct. 13 from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Airman and Family Readiness Center. Heart Link is a spouse orientation program designed to strengthen military families and enhance mission readiness. Appreciating that spouses play a critical role on the Air Force Team and an integral part in impacting retention decisions, Heart Link's goal is to assist spouses, especially those with five years or less exposure to the military, acclimate to this environment. By increasing awareness of the Air Force mission here, teaching customs, traditions and protocol, and introducing support resources available to them, spouses will be better able to make use of community services they might need assistance from. Throughout the event, attendees will have an opportunity to win prizes. Lunch is provided and free child care is also available. One of the program's highlights is a visit from the wing commander or one of his representatives who will present a coin to each spouse for completing the program. Anyone interested in attending should call the Airman and Family Readiness Center at 731-4900 to make a reservation and pick up a childcare certificate, if needed.
