Cold-weather gear wear outlined by commander

Col. Anthony Cotton, 341st Missile Wing commander, signed a letter Sept. 10 granting permission to wear cold-weather gear within the prescribed guidelines outlined below, for Air Force Global Strike Command Airmen assigned here and performing duties with in the missile complex and on the installation through May 11, 2011. Supervisors will ensure this guidance is not abused.

Parka, Extreme Cold Weather N-3B, Sage Green - authorized with ABU, BDU, Flight Suit, Blues and PT Gear

Parka Pants, Extreme Cold Weather S-1B, Sage Green - authorized with ABU, BDU, Flight Suit and Blues

Parka, Extreme Cold Weather, ABU - authorized with ABU only

Parka Pants, Extreme Cold Weather, ABU - authorized with ABU only

GORTEX jacket, BDU - authorized with BDU and Flight Suit

APEX Jacket, ABU - authorized with ABU and Flight Suit

Fleece Liner, Black (not as an outer garment) - authorized with ABU and BDU

Fleece Pant Liner, Black (not as an outer garment) - authorized with ABU and BDU

Fleece Liner, Sage Green - authorized with ABU (Note: When worn as an outer garment, effective Oct. 1, 2010, must be worn with name tape and rank for both enlisted and officer ranks.)

Thermal Insulated Socks, Black, Sage Green or Tan - authorized with ABU, BDU, Flight Suit and Blues (Note: Conceal thermal insulated socks that do not match the authorized sock color for the uniform/boot combination being worn - only Black with Blues).

Cold Weather Gloves, Black or Sage Green - authorized with ABU, BDU, Flight Suit, Blues and PT Gear (Note: Black only with Blues)

Cold Weather Boot, Black or Sage Green - authorized with ABU, BDU, Flight Suit, Blues and PT Gear (Note: Must be removed once inside when wearing with Blues/PT Gear)

Quilted Coveralls/Jacket (Carhart), Brown/Black - authorized with ABU/BDU (Note: May only be worn in the immediate work area)

Mukluks, Sage Green or Black - authorized with ABU and BDU only

As a reminder, Chief Master Sgt. Cari Kent, 341st MW command chief, wants everyone to know the fleece or knit stocking cap can only be worn with an appropriate outer garment, not with just the uniform alone.
