Instruction requires sponsorship training for new sponsors Published Oct. 7, 2010 By Airman and Family Readiness Center staff MALMSTROM AIR FORCE BASE, Mont. -- Air Force Global Strike Command Airmen assigned to sponsor new members to the 341st Missile Wing at Malmstrom are required to have sponsorship training if they are a first-time sponsor, or if they have not had training in the past year, per AFI 36-3009, para. 3.10.2.6. Recently, a comprehensive training application was put together a Military Home Front to provide a standardized sponsorship training program for all branches of the service. The end result is a very user-friendly program that provides access to welcome-letter templates, welcome packages, relocation websites and other additional information the sponsor will need to provide quality sponsorship to inbound personnel. The appointed sponsor is provided a system-generated certificate of completion once the training has been accomplished. The web link is http://apps/mhf.dod.mil/esat. A link has also been developed for military spouses so they can provide assistance to newly arriving families. Go to http://www.militaryinstallations.dod.mil. Cursor down to "Are you a sponsor," and select "Learn more about the process." Complete the unsecured public training. Questions regarding the Malmstrom Sponsorship Training Program should be directed to Bev Ryles, community readiness consultant, at the Airman and Family Readiness Center, 731-4900.
