Spring registration at Park University/Embry Riddle under way
Registration for the Spring I term classes for Park University ends today. Classes begin Jan. 10 and run through March 6. Take advantage of tuition assistance, VA benefits and federal financial aid. Scholarship opportunities include free money for military spouses. For complete details, stop by the Education Center in building 1240, call 761-7540 or register online.

Embry Riddle Aeronautical University is also holding registration for the spring semester which begins Jan. 10 as well. The school offers associate and bachelor degrees in technical management, occupational safety and health, logisitic, and professional aeronautics. TOS waived for potential MTI candidates
The Military Training Instructor Corps received authorization to pursue 18 month time-on-station waivers for those interested. Contact the MTI Recruiting Team at DSN 473-1016 or 473-1018. Cooking class offered at ODR
Outdoor Recreation is holding a Dutch oven cooking class on Jan. 13 from 5 to 8 p.m. The class will teach members how to bake with a Dutch oven, and dinner is included. For more information, dinner menu or to register for the class contact Outdoor Rec.

Moonlight snowshoe trip planned
A moonlight snowshoe trip will be sponsored by Outdoor Rec. on Jan. 14 starting at 5 p.m. and ending at midnight. The hike through the mountains will include a stop at the turn-around to roast marshmallows and make toasted-cheese sandwiches. For more information or to sign up, call 731-3263.

Cross Country Ski Fest announced
Izaak Walton Inn is holding a Cross Country Ski Fest on Jan. 16 from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. The Ski Fest will include free family activities, equipment demos, ski lessons, trail passes and 2-horse open sleigh rides. Call Outdoor Rec. at 731-3263 for more information.

Family Play-in-the-Snow Day coming soon
Families are encouraged to take advantage of Outdoor Rec.'s Play-in-the-Snow-Day on Jan. 17, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The trip will include kid-sized skis and snowshoes as well as the instructions to go along with them. There will also be a fire for toasting cheese sandwiches and making S'mores. Members attending should dress warm and bring water to drink on the trail. Home Alone training offered at YC
The Youth Center is offering a home-alone training class for kids ages 10-11 Jan. 12 at 4 p.m. The class teaches kids the responsibilities of staying home alone, like what to do in case of an emergency and how to make a simple yet fun snack. Youth basketball registration continues
Registration for youth basketball ages 7-9 and 10-12 will continue through Jan. 22. A current sports physical is required to register. A parent meeting will be held Jan. 25 at 5:30 p.m., and the basketball skills assessment will be on Jan. 27 at 5:30 p.m.

Youth coaching certifications are Jan. 20
The Youth Center is offering certification training for basketball and Little League baseball coaches on Jan. 20 at 5:30 p.m. The training is provided through National Alliance for Youth Sports. For more information, contact the Youth Center at 731-4634 and ask for James.

Parenting class being offered
"Setting Goals for a New Year" is the title of a parenting class being offered at the MSU Extension Office (Westgate Mall) Jan. 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. The goal of the class is to help develop family rules while also problem solving, making decisions and negotiating.
