Spouses' Club Welfare Committee accepting donation requests The Malmstrom Spouses' Club Welfare Committee is currently accepting donation requests for the upcoming year. To be considered, please submit a letter describing your organization. Include the amount of funding being requested and an explanation of how your organization plans to use the funds if awarded. All requests from Malmstrom and the local community will be considered. The second lunch seminar - "You Can't Marry Jethro Without Getting the Clampetts" - will be held March 18, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Attendees are asked to bring their own lunch to eat. For more information or to reserve a seat, call 731-4900. Spouses' Club accepting scholarship applications The Malmstrom Spouses' Club is now accepting scholarship applications. Both Cascade County high school seniors and spouses of active-duty, retired or deceased military personnel are eligible and encouraged to apply. High school students must have a 3.0 grade point average to be considered. The deadline for applications is March 31. They are available at the Thrift Store, Post Office, Airman and Family Readiness Center, Library, Education Office and via email to malmstromspouses08@yahoo.com. Help needed for annual food drive Boy Scouts of America Montana Council is asking for volunteers to help with their Annual Food Drive on Saturday April 2 and April 9. Volunteers are needed for distributing donation bags, collecting donations and with the sorting of donations at the Great Falls Community Food Bank. Air Force Aid Society General Arnold Education Grant Update For those who recently applied for the AFAS General Arnold Education Grant, you should have received online access to something called a Family Financial Data Form (FFDF), and a grade point average (GPA) verification form. The FFDF is program-specific, it allows the required financial information to be scored differently because you're Air Force, and it is part 2 of a complete application. If you've neglected to fill out the FFDF and GPA forms, you're making a mistake... Don't stop short and risk losing a $2,000 education grant. Complete both forms and submit them right away. The receipt deadline is April 15. DANTES funding not available starting October 1 Effective Oct. 1, DANTES funding will no longer be available to pay exam fees for Excelsior College Examinations (ECEs). Only first attempts at ECEs administered on or before Sept. 30 will be eligible for processing with DANTES funding. Wounded Warrior benefit run scheduled Capital and Helena High School Student Councils are hosting a benefit run for the Wounded Warrior Project April 16. Events include running/walking a 10K, 5K, 1M or bravely completing all three. The 10K starts at 8:45 a.m., the 5K at 10 a.m. and the 1M at 10:45 a.m. Registration is $20 for a single race or $30 for the "Trifecta." All races begin and end in Northwest Park, which is located across from Capital High School at 100 Valley Dr. in Helena.
