Several Air Force Global Strike Command Airmen took a break from their work March 10 to attend Malmstrom's final Wing Ski Day this winter.

"Getting out of work is a big morale boost," said Senior Airman Jeffery Jones, a 341st Logistics Readiness Squadron material controller for vehicle maintenance. "We all need that time off."

Outdoor Recreation provided free transportation to and from the day's events as well as equipment for Airmen E-1 through E-4. Airmen participated in several activities including snowboarding, skiing and snowshoeing at Showdown Ski Rresort.

Airmen who were skiing or snowboarding would take breaks in between their passes down the slopes to relax and get a chance to warm up. They would share their stories of recent battles with the mountain, whether successful or not.

"It's better when you're with a lot of people - especially friends," said Airman 1st Class Courtney Taylor, a 341st Comptroller Squadron customer service technician. "I just started learning how to [snowboard], so I wish they would have more Wing Ski Days."

With ideal weather bearing plenty of sunshine and blue skies, Airmen took to the slopes without hesitation. Some faced them alone, others in groups, but together they faced the hills just as they do every day at work - as a part of Team Malmstrom.
