First ever RAD class offered Malmstrom is holding the first ever Rape Aggressive Defense class from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 9. RAD teaches defense against rape, assault and abduction, and is designed for the average woman with no previous experience or background in physical defense training. Family Advocacy hosting fair A parent and child information fair is 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 15 in the mental health conference room at the clinic. Topics to be discussed include parenting techniques, youth programs, special needs/school liaison, child dental hygiene, shaken baby syndrome, Internet safety and more. Ice Breaker Road Race registration opens The 32nd Annual Ice Breaker Road Race will be held Sunday, April 17. Registration is Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Park and Recreation office (1700 River Drive North). Special registration will be held at the Civic Center Convention Center on Saturday, April 16 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday (race day) at the Convention Center, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. - a late fee will apply beginning April 11. Salvation Army looking for donations The Women's Auxiliary of the Salvation Army is seeking donations for their spring antique and collectible sale being held May 13 and 14. Old china, linens, vintage clothing, jewelry, furniture, books, pictures, dolls, toys and anything that is still in good condition can be added to the sale. Items may be left at the Salvation Army West Thrift Store, 616 1st Ave. N.W., clearly marked "Women's Auxiliary" or call 452-9927 to schedule a time for items to be picked up.
