In 1980, Congress passed legislation to establish the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and a national day of remembrance for the victims of the Holocaust to be held annually. This year's Days of Remembrance theme, "Justice and Accountability in the Face of Genocide: What Have We Learned?" commemorates the 65th anniversary of the verdicts delivered at the International Military Tribunal in Nuremberg and the 50th anniversary of the Eichmann trial.

This year, Holocaust Remembrance week is May 1-8. As a tribute to this tumultuous period in history, the 819th RED HORSE Squadron is hosting the following events:
  • A Holocaust Commemoration Ceremony May 2 at 1:30 p.m. at the base auditorium
  • Name reading of 5,000 names of the victims that perished during the Holocaust May 3-6 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day at the fitness center.
The 819th RHS is very honored to show their respect towards the annual commemoration of the Holocaust. Please support the national "Days of Remembrance" by attending these special events.
