Community Notes: Week ending May 20 Published May 23, 2011 MALMSTROM AIR FORCE BASE, Mont. -- Youth Programs relocate to old club Because of the ongoing heating, ventilation and air-conditioning project, Youth Programs will temporarily relocate to the old Grizzly Bend Club across from lodging. The Youth Center will be closed May 18-21 for the move, and will reopen in the new location May 23. For more information, contact the Youth Center at 731-4634. Commissary hosts event for spouses, single parents The Malmstrom Commissary will be open from 6 to 8 p.m. May 23 to host spouses of deployed military members and single parents in the community. The event offers free food samplings games and numerous prize giveaways, including a $100, $200 and $300 shopping spree. Contact your sponsoring unit's first sergeant for tickets or information. Top 3 offering scholarships The Big Sky Top 3 is awarding two college scholarships this quarter - one to an Airman and one to an NCO. Applicants are to submit a two page essay (double spaced, original work) relating to the United States Air Force's nuclear mission by June 30. Entries should be sent to Master Sgt. National Kid's Fishing Day slated for June 4 Malmstrom will be holding a National Kid's Fishing Day event at Pow Wow Pond June 4 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Families are encouraged to enjoy a day of free fishing and food along with some fishing equipment giveaways. Volunteers needed for housing safety benefit A housing safety benefit is scheduled to take place June 4 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and volunteers are needed to work the event.
