The course is 14 weeks long and begins Oct. 20. ITC is an online, self-paced course which fulfills three hours of social science or program elective credit required for the Community College of the Air Force degree programs. Malmstrom no longer accepting glass recyclables Malmstrom will no longer be accepting glass for recycling. The market for glass in central Montana is scarce; therefore the cost of shipping glass material outweighs the value of the product. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month Family Advocacy will provide a presentation to provide ways to help families cope with stress and anger Oct. 19 from 8 to 10 a.m. at the mental health conference room located at the base clinic. Scouts selling popcorn Saturday is the last day Boy Scout Troop 43 and Cub Scout Pack 43 will be taking orders for popcorn. Deadline is today to become Victim Advocate The Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office is accepting applications for new Victim Advocates. Applications should be turned in no later than Oct. 14, as mandatory training is scheduled for Oct. 24-28 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 341st Logistics Readiness Squadron to inspect privately owned vehicles The 341st LRS will be doing free winter POV inspections for military and civilian base personnel Oct. 15-16 and Oct. 22-23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bldg. 870. Thrift store winter hours The thrift store on base will be open Tuesday, Friday and the first Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The store is located in Bldg. 581 on Goddard Drive. American Military University representative to visit A representative from the American Military University will be visiting the Education and Training Center located at Bldg. 1240 Oct. 25 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Those who have questions or are interested in meeting the representative are encouraged to stop by the center. National Prescription Take-Back Day The 341st Medical Group and the 341st Security Forces Group are joining forces and heading up National Prescription Take-Back Day at Malmstrom Oct. 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Great Falls community members can turn in any unwanted medications, including controlled substances, at the Visitor Control Center parking lot located at Bldg. 192 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Team Malmstrom members can drop off medications at the entrance of the commissary. Memorandum of understanding to be required before tuition assistance is issued Effective Jan. 1, 2012, the Department of Defense will require all academic institutions participating in the Military Tuition Assistance program to have a signed memorandum of understanding in order for TA to be issued. The policy applies to all institutions accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and enrolling active duty military members using TA. Students or potential students need to ensure the school they are attending has a signed MOU on file. This includes schools operating on and off military bases and institutions delivering courses via classroom instruction and distance education.
