National Prescription Take-Back Day The 341st Medical Group and the 341st Security Forces Group are joining forces and heading up National Prescription Take-Back Day at Malmstrom tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Great Falls community members can turn in any unwanted medications, including controlled substances, at the Visitor Control Center parking lot, located at Bldg. 192, and Malmstrom members can drop off medications at the entrance of the commissary. Malmstrom clinic to be closed Nov. 8 The clinic will be closed Nov. 8 for readiness training. Temporary housing office closure The housing office will only be open briefly from 7:15 a.m. to 7:45 and 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. Nov. 14-15 due to a mandatory training session the rest of the day. No assignments or terminations will be scheduled. The office will have one person to aid with applications only. Volunteers needed for bell ringing The Salvation Army is gearing up for their 2011 Red Kettle campaign and volunteers are needed to serve as bell ringers to help raise money in support of social humanitarian efforts. The campaign is slated to start Nov. 24 and run through Dec. 24, every Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Normal shifts are two hours long. Memorandum of understanding to be required before tuition assistance is issued Effective Jan. 1, 2012, the Department of Defense will require all academic institutions participating in the Military Tuition Assistance program to have a signed memorandum of understanding in order for TA to be issued. The policy applies to all institutions accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and enrolling active-duty military members using TA. Students or potential students need to ensure the school they are attending has a signed MOU on file. This includes schools operating on and off military bases and institutions delivering courses via classroom instruction and distance education.
