The leadership at Malmstrom has developed a plan to ensure Wing One's personnel are safe during adverse weather conditions this winter. Dubbed "SNOWCON," the new procedures could result in delayed reporting to work or not reporting at all for non-mission essential personnel.

Administrative staff are encouraged to add the new snow condition information to their recall rosters and everyone should be aware of the following means of checking for current conditions:
  •  Dial the SNOWCON Hotline at 731-SNOW (7669) to listen to the recorded message;
  •  Turn on the television to KRTV, News Channel 3, morning news between 5:30 and 7 a.m.;
  •  For on base residents, turn to the commander's access channel; and
  •  Listen to one of the following radio stations for the latest information:
- KINX.FM (107.3)
- KQDI.FM (106.1)
- KWGF.FM (103.9)
- KIKS.FM (101.3)
- KQDI.AM (1450)
- KXGF.AM (1400)
- KMON.FM (94.5)
- KVVR.FM (97.9)
- KAAK.FM (98.9)
- KLFM.FM (92.9)
- KMON.AM (560)

The SNOWCON procedures are rated low, medium and high. SNOWCON Low means that operations are normal and all personnel should report to work as usual.

SNOWCON Medium means mission essential personnel for the missile complex and base activities report in accordance with a time determined by group commanders. Delayed reporting or early departure will be effective at a time determined by leadership for non-mission essential personnel.

SNOWCON High means only mission essential personnel for the missile complex only will report to work. All others are not to report for duty.
