How much money will I receive when I sell my leave back? Divide your base pay by 30 days and then multiply that amount by the number of days that are being sold back. Federal taxes are calculated at 25 percent and state tax amounts differ (check the state websites for this amount). 2. Am I authorized permissive or terminal leave prior to separation/retirement? Permissive leave is only authorized for members who are retiring and members with specific circumstances that are outlined in AFI 36-3003, Table 7. Terminal leave can only be taken when approved by the unit commander if duty permits. All leave must be approved by the member's unit commander on an Air Force Form 988. 3. Am I entitled to Dislocation Allowance from my permanent change of station? Members entitled to DLA are: · Members claiming a dependent spouse or child are authorized the with dependent rate to those members whose dependents travel to the new duty location. · Members married to military with no dependents. The highest ranking member will receive the single rate DLA. See the JFTR, Vol 1 Table U5G-3 for eligibility. · Single members not living in the dorms that have written commander approval. Members not entitled to DLA: · Members living in the dorms, regardless of dependency status. · Members who are at their first duty location. 4. What is my BAH entitlement? This can be found on the Defense Travel Management webpage (http://www.defensetravel. dod.mil/). BAH is prorated. 5. I'm separating, am I authorized permissive TDY leave? This is a case by case basis. The authorization for the leave is normally listed on the back side of the member's separation order. If it isn't listed on the orders, refer to AFI 36-3003, Table 7, or contact the Military Personnel Flight separations section. 6. I live in housing and I'm not receiving BAH, or not receiving the correct amount of BAH. Why is that? If you are married to another military member, and your name is not on the lease then you are required to visit finance to fill out an AF Form 594. The BAH will be back paid effective March 8, the day Balfour Beatty Communities took over housing. No one in housing for the month of March received a full rate BAH. Keep in mind that if you are married to a military member with no dependents, both members will receive the single rate BAH; however, the with-dependent BAH rate will be deducted from the member on the lease, while the spouse keeps their full BAH entitlement.
