Housing refuse collection guidance outlined Published June 18, 2012 By Housing Management Office MALMSTROM AIR FORCE BASE, Mont. -- Every Friday is trash and bulk pickup for Malmstrom housing residents. Refuse containers are provided for each home. All regular refuse must be curbside no later than 7 a.m. and empty garbage cans should be removed from the curb by 7 p.m. the same day. Overflow refuse should be placed in a separate, durable refuse container. Residents are asked not to leave containers at the pickup sites overnight as this could attract stray and wild animals. All trash in the containers needs to be in bags; no loose trash. Refuse containers should not be placed in public view except on scheduled pickup days. Bulk refuse collection curbside can include appliances, furniture, large items such as tires and miscellaneous debris. The following items will not be picked up as part of bulk refuse: Refrigerators Batteries Paint Oils Household cleaners Chemicals or similar items that fall under the Environmental Protection Agency regulations It is up to the resident to dispose of these items properly. Base housing residents are not permitted to use base-wide containers to dispose of any household or bulk refuse. Questions should be directed to the Balfour Beatty Communities staff at 315-2262 or 315-2265.
