Tops in Blue to perform June 27 Published June 21, 2012 By Senior Airman Kristina Overton 341st Missile Wing Public Affairs MALMSTROM AIR FORCE BASE, Mont. -- The Air Force's premier entertainment showcase, Tops in Blue, will be performing their new show "Listen" at the Montana Expo Park on June 27 at 7 p.m.; doors open at 6:30 p.m. The performance is free and open to the public. "We are really excited to be bringing the Tops in Blue program back to Great Falls," said Rick King, Grizzly Bend manager. "The group offers the community a great opportunity to enjoy the professional talents of the Air Force. Each show is new and exciting. Having a performance of this magnitude, with 59 years of touring tradition, makes it all the more worthwhile." This year's high energy, 90-minute show features music from The Doobie Brothers, Earth Wind and Fire, Whitney Houston, Lady Antebellum, Maroon 5 and more. The team will perform in more than 20 countries, with close to 130 shows over a 10-month period. The 2012 team is composed of 36 talented vocalists, musicians, dancers and technicians from different bases across the Air Force. Each member is part of the "road crew" for the team, responsible for setting up and tearing down more than 60,000 pounds of staging, lighting, audio and video equipment for each performance. "It's a great opportunity to see a top-rated show," King said. "It's such a morale booster for our active-duty members and their families stationed here, and a spectacular show that both the base and community can enjoy. I'm really excited to see what they've come up with." For more information about Tops in Blue, contact the Grizzly Bend at 731-3359, or visit the Tops in Blue website at www.topsinblue.com.
