Summer reading under way A summer reading program, "Reading is so Delicious! Eat, Move, Read," is scheduled to run through July 31 at the library for children ages 2 to 16. Triathlon scheduled for July 14 A triathlon consisting of a 500-meter swim, 10-mile cycling course and 3.1-mile run is scheduled for July 14 at the Fitness Center at 8 a.m. Participants will need to provide their own bicycles. Auditions for positions in the Air Force ball Auditions for emcee, co-emcee and national anthem singer positions for Malmstrom's Air Force ball is scheduled for July 16 at 2 p.m. at the Grizzly Bend. Youth Center to host volleyball camp A volleyball camp is scheduled for July 17 to 19 at the Youth Center. Children ages 9 to 12 will be taught from 9 to 11 a.m.; children ages 13 to 18 will be taught from noon to 2 p.m. Participants will learn the basic skills of volleyball such as bumping, setting and spiking. Gates of the Mountains boat tour A Gates of the Mountains boat tour is scheduled for July 24 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Participants will learn about area geology, wildlife, ecology and Native American pictographs. Multicultural Fair to be held Aug. 2 Malmstrom will be holding its annual Multicultural Fair Aug. 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sun Plaza Park. The fair is held to celebrate the diversity of Airmen across the Air Force and will feature food samplings, live acts and displays of many different cultural heritages. Game show challenge slated The Airman's Council is hosting a 341st Security Forces Squadron Game Show Challenge at the Grizzly Bend on August 10 from 4 to 5 p.m. Malmstrom's service members are invited to attend the competition and support security forces members. Current students will graduate or be disenrolled after 12 months plus one optional three-month extension for those remaining in good standing and have passed at least two of the three required exams. Course 20 enrollment will not occur after Dec. 27, 2013. Students who have not completed the course by Dec. 27, 2013 will have to re-enroll in the new Course 20 class.
