MALMSTROM AIR FORCE BASE, Mont. --  Gate closures Sept. 8 and 9
Due to the installation of new fiber optics, the inbound lane for the front gate (located on Goddard Dr.) will be closed Sept. 8 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Also, the inbound lane for the commercial gate will be closed Sept. 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. All incoming traffic must use the alternate gates for entrance onto base. Outbound traffic will be constant at both gates throughout the duration of the project.

New Chapel Worship hours
Beginning Sept. 16 at the base chapel, traditional Protestant Service will begin at 11:15 a.m. and Catholic Sunday Mass will begin at 9:15 a.m. For more information, contact the chapel at 731-3721.

Grizzly tracking classes coming up
The Adventurers and Scientists for Conservation Program and Sierra Club are hosting a grizzly tracking class in the Gravelly/Snowcrest and Tobacco Root Mountains Sept. 21 to 23. Preference is given to military families and veterans. Individuals, in groups of two or four, will learn how to identify tracks and find DNA samples off fence lines, scats and rub trees. Participants must be comfortable hiking in rough terrain and only sign up if planning to attend because of limited space available. For more information, call the ASC at (406) 579-7902.

Applications being accepted for new victim advocates
Applications for new Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Victim Advocates are being accepted until Sept. 14. Mandatory training is scheduled for Sept. 24 to 28 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Security forces, medical, legal and chaplain personnel are prohibited. For more information, call Tracy May at 731-4130.

Outdoor Recreation trips slated
The following are outdoor adventure trips offered by Malmstrom's Outdoor Recreation:
· A Hell's Canyon whitewater expedition is scheduled from Sept. 12 at 6 a.m. to Sept. 16 at 9 p.m. This five-day trip includes transportation, rafting and camping gear, and meals. The trip costs $360 per person and only 12 spots are open.
· A caving adventure at Lick Creek Cave is scheduled for Sept. 23 from 1 to 9 p.m. The cost is $15 and includes transportation, helmets and headlamps.

MSC to host social at Bowling Center
Malmstrom Spouses's Club is hosting a social Sept. 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Bowling Center. The cost is $5 per person and includes three games of bowling, shoe rentals, pizza and drinks. Prescription take-back day scheduled
The 341st Medical Group and 341st Security Forces Group are joining together to hold a National Prescription Take-Back Day Sept. 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Great Falls community members can turn in any unwanted medications, including controlled substances, at the Visitor Control Center parking lot located at Bldg. 192, on 2nd Avenue North. Catholic religious education classes, mass
· Catholic religious education classes are set to start Sept. 9. For more information, call 731-3285.
· A Catholic outdoor mass followed by a picnic is scheduled for Sept. 9 at Sun Plaza Park at 10:30 a.m.

Buddy Walk registration has opened
The 3rd Annual Under the Big Sky Buddy Walk will take place Oct. 6 at 11 a.m. at the University of Great Falls. Pre-registration opened Aug. 1 and will continue through Sept. 8. The Buddy Walk was created by the National Down Syndrome Society in 1995 to celebrate down syndrome awareness month in October.

Thrift Store summer and fall hours
The Thrift store will be open on Tuesdays, Fridays and the first Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. To find out more, visit the store's Facebook page.

Worship and Bible studies
· Charismatic Worship and Bible Study is held at the Chapel Annex on Thursdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
· Contemporary Worship and Bible Study will be held in the Chapel sanctuary on Sundays from 2 to 3 p.m. starting Aug. 26.

Indoor soccer pre-season tournament
There will be a pre-season soccer tournament in preparation for the upcoming soccer leagues on Sept. 29 starting at 10 a.m. at the Fitness Center. Registration can be made at the front desk of the Fitness Center and all participants will need to be in place by 9:30 a.m. in the lower gym soccer field. Final 5K run slated
